I was to meet Swamiji during my first trip to India, organized by Shri G. Mahesh.
Quickly, the invitation into Shiva-yoga brought me through a tremendous experience which made me discover in myself strong emotions and a huge responsibility.
Very quickly, this made me feel a great peace within myself and a lightness of being. With time, I felt that this well-being was a trap to be overcome.
New experiences came up the second time I met Swamiji, during a yoga camp in Sainte Baume, France. I received the meaning of figures, not only concerning their mathematical value but also their symbolic meaning in the construction of the world. Each calculation of figures would give verbal knowledge of the visible and invisible that exists.
Later, I became aware of colours, the energy they would pass on, their musical tone and their vibrating action. Each new contact with Swamiji would fill me with new strength and consolidate my practice. I achieved knowledge and visualization of the chakras, their own colours and vibrations, and their connection with different parts of the physical, psychic and spiritual body. It was the discovery of the Divine itself, followed suddenly by the perception of the aura of the body and the aura of everything, and the modification of colours within the body's being.
Some time later, my body was filled and shaken by a strong energy, like an electrical force. This peculiar experience became disturbing in everyday life.
During a stay in France, Swamiji's presence at home strengthened my practice. New phenomena occurred, such as the discovery of forces linked to the strengths of nature—the ability to call for the wind or modify it. There was a capacity to open or close doors at a distance, and to do the same with radios, televisions and lights. There was also the possibility of producing lightning and thunder in a blue sky.
This would sometimes become uncontrollable, but if I decided that my energy should stop, it would stop. The physical impact seemed to have control over matter. At some point in time, I would move through time and space. I would suddenly be in places where I could meet people with whom I could discuss things. Everything was clearer than in ordinary life.
I was sometimes confronted with situations over which I had no control. While stopped at a red traffic light, I would find myself a few kilometres farther away, without understanding how it happened. At other times, I would suddenly find myself lost in the open countryside while driving my car and be obliged to ask for directions. I understood that this was still a trap and not yet the goal to be reached.
I also discovered that nature was ruled by laws, and that each animal, vegetable or other species was governed by a master or "group-spirit" with whom communication was possible.
During my fourth meeting with Swamiji in India, I received directly, without verbal support, an introduction to the knowledge of veracity, maya and the real me. I perceived the different states of consciousness: consciousness connected with the body, activities and spirit, and the relationship between the soul and the body, and the soul and the spirit.
I became conscious of an intelligence that is not that of thought, which I feel as a supra-consciousness or higher consciousness. Thought is only a limited totality compared with intelligence.
I felt that I had the answers to all questions about philosophy and spiritualism without the interference of thought.
Then I reached a point where I was surrounded by light. I was physically surrounded by light on several occasions. This transcendental light would persist for some nights, regardless of whether my eyes were closed or open.
I remember that when I was in the Ashram, I felt a holy love for Swamiji. At the same time, physical phenomena appeared, such as a beam swinging on its ropes for no obvious reason. My life was changed, and the spirit of God would not leave me.
Recently, during my last visit to Swamiji in December 1989, I concentrated on the light of the Lingam and felt great strength. Shiva's eye pierced me at the Ajna. This powerful light touched the centre of my head while illuminating Anahata, Ajna and Sahasrara. Now, I feel as though I can illuminate all seven chakras. The following day, I felt the Kundalini rising. This was produced by a force that I could feel and visualize.
At the same time, something like a snake suddenly rose with two heads and joined at the level of Ajna. A flash of lightning rose to the top of my head, followed by an explosion of a thousand fires. I felt perfect.
I must confess that, from the very beginning, I experienced telepathic thought transference with Swamiji. During my last experience at night, he met me telepathically and spoke in English. I answered, "But, speak French, will you?" He answered, "I don't speak French."
The next day, on Sunday, Swamiji told this to his disciples. They all had a good laugh. Our communication can take place without words; most thought transference is direct and unspeakable.
I thank God for allowing me to meet Swamiji. It is a great happiness for me to become his disciple. I also thank Shri Mahesh for everything he did for me. Samadhi will be the result and glorification of Swamiji's work and constant help. For me, the goal reached is union with the Divine.
